Dr. Tamra Vaughan is the Director of Academic Support for Martinsville City Schools, where she oversees Title III, K–2 Reading and Reading Supports, the Reading Specialist Program, the New Teacher Program, Division PBIS, World Languages, and Virginia Literacy Partnerships (VLP). With more than 35 years of experience in education, serving as a teacher, curriculum developer, coordinator, assist. principal, and principal. Dr. Vaughan holds a Reading Specialist M.Ed. from Averett University, an Ed.S. from the University of Virginia, and an Ed.D. in Administration/Policy from Virginia Tech. She has served on the Virginia Literacy Advisory Board, as a local and national LETRS facilitator, Region 6 Title III representative for VESA, and an adjunct professor at Averett University. She is passionate about equipping teachers with the tools and strategies they need to become highly effective educators.
