Skip Tyler is a mathematics consultant, educator, and author with more than three decades of experience in classroom teaching, instructional leadership, and professional learning. As Co‑Founder and Lead Consultant of the Collaborative Teaching and Learning Group (CTLG), he partners with schools and districts nationwide to strengthen mathematics instruction and build student‑centered, thinking‑rich classrooms.
As a National Board Certified teacher and former Secondary Mathematics Educational Specialist in Henrico County Public Schools (VA), Skip has led curriculum design, coaching, and division‑wide instructional improvement. He has presented at national, state, and regional conferences and served in leadership roles with VCMS and NCSM. He was recently honored with the VCMS Lifetime Service Award.
Skip is the co‑author of Math Workshop: Five Steps to Implementing a Student‑Centered Learning Environment (6–12) and develops professional learning resources that help teachers create collaborative, discourse‑rich classrooms grounded in deep mathematical thinking. His work centers on student agency, instructional design, and transforming math classrooms into spaces where curiosity and identity thrive.
