About me
Mia Pumo is a Director at MGT Impact Solutions, working directly with education leaders to create environments where educators and students can thrive. With over 30 years of experience teaching and leading, Mia brings valuable expertise, especially in developing coaches in education.Prior to working with MGT, Mia co-founded a company with a focus on developing instructional coaches. She has served in a variety of roles in public schools and non-profit organizations. She worked as a classroom teacher, math curriculum specialist, and school leader before becoming an instructional coach. She was a Director of Career Academy Development supporting career academies in high schools across the country. Mia currently serves on the board of the Positive Education Consortium, a group dedicated to spreading positive education practices to help students and teachers thrive while learning. Mia attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her undergraduate degree in radio, television, and film. After working in television advertising, she earned her master’s in education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She earned her license in school administration at High Point University. She is a national board-certified teacher and most recently completed her certification as an Applied Positive Psychology Practitioner. Mia published her first book, What Are You Craving? Designing the Life You Were Meant to Live, in 2017.
