About me
With 28 years of dedicated experience in secondary education within Chesterfield County Public Schools, Heidi Hicks is passionate about instructional leadership and the power of collaboration. Before stepping into administration at Thomas Dale High School, Heidi spent years in the classroom teaching English at Matoaca High and Matoaca Middle schools. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from James Madison University, a Master of Teaching in Secondary English from Virginia Commonwealth University, and an endorsement in Administration and Supervision from Virginia State University.Heidi firmly believes that engagement and teamwork are the keys to a successful academic experience, and there is no better place for this collaborative growth to happen than within a highly functioning PLC. For Heidi, the absolute best part of her job is being with students every day and supporting them as they grow. Outside of school, she is an avid sports fan who loves attending UVA basketball games with her husband. She cherishes time spent with her family—especially her five grandchildren—as well as relaxing at the beach and making memories with close friends.
