About me
Chelsea Padgett is a Director at TNTP with more than a decade of experience partnering with district and state leaders to drive sustainable improvement in literacy, leadership development, and instructional systems. As a trusted advisor to superintendents and executive leadership teams, she supports large-scale initiatives focused on curriculum implementation, instructional coherence, and organizational change.
Over the past year, Chelsea has led TNTP's Virginia Comprehensive Literacy State Development (CLSD) work, partnering with 10 school divisions across the Commonwealth to strengthen literacy instruction and implementation. As the lead for Lynchburg City Schools and the director overseeing statewide strategy, grant management, and professional learning, she has worked closely with division leaders to support the implementation of high-quality instructional materials and sustainable literacy improvement. Her experience spans both division-specific transformation and cross-division learning, giving her a unique perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing Virginia schools.
Prior to joining TNTP, Chelsea supported school turnaround efforts in large urban districts and served as an English teacher and department chair. She holds a master's degree in Literacy from Georgia State University, along with a Reading Specialist certification and teacher coaching endorsement.
