Chelsea Kimbrough is the School Improvement Specialist at Kempsville High School in Virginia Beach City Public Schools. With 19 years in education, she has served as a mathematics teacher, math specialist, and instructional leader, giving her a broad perspective on teaching, coaching, and leading school improvement efforts.Chelsea's work centers on supporting teachers and building leadership capacity through meaningful professional learning, collaborative PLCs, and instructional coaching. She also coordinates Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) testing, helping educators use assessment data to strengthen instruction and improve student outcomes.One of Chelsea's greatest passions is developing teacher leaders and creating opportunities for educators to lead meaningful change within their schools. She believes that lasting improvement happens when leadership is shared, teachers are empowered, and collaboration becomes part of the school culture. Whether facilitating professional learning, leading an Instructional Leadership Team, or partnering with teachers in classrooms, Chelsea is committed to helping educators grow so that every student has access to high-quality learning experiences.
